Jatiya Krishak Samity
A rally organised by Jatiya Krishak Samity was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Tuesday. In the programme the leaders of the samity demanded re-fixation of the price of agricultural products including paddy, jute, wheat and maize. They urged the government to form permanent price committee for the fixation of profitable price of agricultural products. The event was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal Shirin Akhter, General Secretary of the samity Aminul Islam Golap, its Organising Secretary Karam Ali and General Secretary of National Domestic Women Employees Union Murshida Akhter Nahar. Executive President of the samity Mahmudul Hasan Manik presided over the function.
Nadi Banchao Andolon
A rally organised by Nadi Banchao Andolon was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club. Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Shamim said eviction drives against illegal establishment on riverbanks will be continued. “Water Resources Ministry, Shipping Ministry and other concerned monitories and offices are jointly conducting the drives to evict illegal establishments on the banks of Buriganga and Karnaphuli rivers,” he added. He said water resources ministry is working for preventing water-logging crisis across the country as the monsoon is approaching. The function was also addressed, among others, by Vice-President of the organisation Bachchu Miah, its General Secretary Advocate Anwar Hossain and Joint International Affairs Secretary Monir Munshi. President of the organisation Prof Anwar Sadat presided over the event.
