Bangladesh Hawker Sangram Parishad
A rally organised by Bangladesh Hawker Sangram Parishad was held in front of ‘Shapla Chattar’ in the city’s Motijheel. In the programme held on Saturday the speakers demanded rehabilitation of the hawkers before their eviction from the city’s footpath. The leaders of the parishad urged the authorities concerned to take necessary step for the rehabilitation of the hawkers formulating proper policy and law. The event was addressed, among others, by central leaders of the parishad Saijuddin Miah, Arif Chowdhury, Abul Khaer, Alamgir Talukder and Shahina Begum. Convenor the organisation Abul Hosain presided over the function.
Bangladesh Congress
A discussion titled ‘Role of political parties in formation of ideal state and society’ organised by Bangladesh Congress was held marking its sixth founding anniversary. Public Works and Housing Minister SM Rezaul Karim was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently in the city. While speaking Rezaul expressed his optimism that politics imbibing with the spirit of the liberation war would take root in Bangladesh. “Those who do politics of communalism, their anti-liberation politics will be rooted out. We want to establish our politics inspired by the spirit of liberation war in Bangladesh,” he added. The function was also addressed, among others, by President of the Supreme Court Bar Association Advocate AM Aminuddin and eminent political thinker Professor Abul Kashem Fazlul Huq. Chairman of the organisation Advocate Kazi Rezaul Hossain presided over the event.
