Bangladesh Hawkers Union
A rally organised by Bangladesh Hawkers Union was held in front of Muktibhaban in the city’s Purana Palton on Thursday. In the programme the leaders of the organisation bitterly criticized eviction of hawkers from the city’s footpath. They demanded immediate rehabilitation of hawkers before their eviction. After the rally a large procession was brought out in the city to meet its demand. The function was addressed, among others, by the Executive President of the union Murshiqul Islam, Joint General Secretary Hazrat Ali and its Organising Secretary Mohammad Jashim Uddin. President of the organisation Abdul Hashem Kabir presided over the event.

Bangladesh Air Force Women Welfare Association celebrated the International Women’s Day in a befitting manner. Central Committee of the association organised a programme for the wives of Bangladesh Air Force officers at the BAF Shaheen Hall in the city recently to mark the day. Yasmin Jaman, the President of association graced the event as the chief guest. She emphasized the significance of the day and mentioned the contribution of every woman to establish a happy and prosperous family as well as nation. An illustrated report on some of the most successful women’s of the country was presented at the function.
