Bangladesh Chhatra Juba Oikya Parishad

A rally organised by Bangladesh Chhatra Juba Oikya Parishad was held in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city on Saturday. In the rally the speakers called upon all to take measures for the security of temples, churches and pagodas including Ramakrishna Mission. They also urged a vested quarter not to cast aspersion against Advocate Rana Das Gupta. The leaders bitterly criticized the attacks on religious minority and secret series killings all over the country. The rally was addressed, among others, by the leaders of the organisation William Prolay Samaddar Bappi, Ramen Mandal, Barrister Biplab Barua, Advocate Kishore Kumar Basu Roy Chowdhury Pintu and Ramkanta Das Pulak. President of the parishad Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee presided over the programme.

BB Foundation

A roundtable discussion on ‘Upsurge of the Bangalee nationalism can resist the ultra-communal terrorism’ organised by BB Foundation was held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA) in the city’s Dhanmondi on Saturday marking the 67th founding anniversary of Awami League. In the programme the speakers stressed the need for an upsurge of the youths with mass participation to build united resistance against ill activities of the communal forces.They said that Ziaur Rahman and Khondokar Mostaque Ahmed and their accomplices blackened the national character of Bangladesh. So, it is imperative to disseminate the thousand-year-old known and unknown historical episodes of Bangalee nation to the new generation and for the purpose a cultural revolution is need of the hour, they added. The function was addressed, among others, by Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, Deputy Director of Bangla Academy Dr Simon Zakaria and Dhaka University teacher Dr Sayeem Rana. Chairman of the foundation Bahadur Bepari presided over the function.
