Seeds for the future’ in Bangladesh
Huawei, world’s leading ICT solutions provider, has launched its global flagship CSR programme ‘Seeds for the future’ in Bangladesh at a press conference at the Westin in the city yesterday . Zhang Zhengjun, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd was present at the event along with the Chief Guest Mustafa Jabbar, Minister of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology. Seeds for the Future is designed to cultivate more ICT Talents in Bangladesh and provide an opportunity for the students to learn ICT Technologies. In upcoming two months, Huawei will select promising ten students from five noted universities of Bangladesh. Those selected students will get intensive experience in technology and training in the headquarters of Huawei.
Bangladesh Skill Development Institute
For the first time in the country, Mom-preneur, a special initiative to empower the kids and moms will be launched on March 10. The initiative has been taken jointly by Daffodil International School , Daffodil International University and Bangladesh Skill Development Institute will implement the programme. Minister for Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Mustafa Jabbar, will inaugurate the training event . The event will be presided over by Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman Daffodil Family. While travelling in Dhaka City, we can see a common picture that many moms are waiting outside school for their children and spend their valuable time outside. Many of them comes from long distance so, they usually do not want to go back home considering the huge traffic jam. Many of them have good knowledge and Education but due to lack of other skills or time they cannot explore the potential. Research found that, this part of the community have the interest to do something, but for the lack of guidance, time management and skills they do not explore their potentials. Mom-Preneur initiative has been taken considering this demand. A press conference was held to give a brief on this initiative on 17 February at Jatiyo Press Club where the CEO of Daffodil Family Mohammad Nuruzzaman read the press note and highlighted details of the event, says a press release.
BUET Sher-e-Bangla Hall
A two- day long golden jubilee and reunion of BUET Sher-e- Bangla Hall was held at the Hall and BUET premises on February 14 and 15 . The function was inaugurated at the BUET Central Auditorium on Thursday. Alumni Association. Prof Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury, National Professor and President of BUET Alumni Association attended the program as Chief Guest while Prof Dr Jasim Uzzaman former provost of the hall attended the programe as special guest. Among others : Engineer Md. Fazlul Haque, President of the BUET Sher-e- Bangla Hall Alumni Association, Dr. Maglub Al Nur, Secretary General, Convenor Engineer S A Abul Hayat, Joint Convener and Provost of Sher-e-Bangla Hall Prof Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal Khan and Convener of the reception council . A K M Enayet Ullah were also present the occasion.
