Communist Party of Bangladesh
A meeting of the national council of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) was held in Moitree auditorium of Muktibhaban in the city’s Purana Palton on Friday. In the programme the speakers bitterly criticized the secret series killings and attacks on religious minority all over the country. The leaders called upon all to forge greater movement to resist evil forces involved in these heinous activities. The meeting was addressed, among others, by President of CPB Comrade Mujahidul Islam Selim, its General Secretary Syed Abu Jafar Ahmed, member of its central committee Aniruddha Das Anjan, Laki Akhtar and Nalini Kanta Sarker. CPB leaders urged all to come forward to make Bangladesh free from exploitation.
Bangladesh Adibashi Forum
A rally organised by Bangladesh Adibashi Forum was held in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city on Friday. In the rally the speakers strongly protested against the conspiracy hatched for evicting indigenous people who have been living in Madhupur and Nahar Khasia. The programme was addressed, among others, by politician Pankaj Bhattachariya, drama personality Mamunur Rashid, Dhaka University teacher Prof Dr Mesbah Kamal, human rights activists and leaders of the organisation.
