Bangladesh Brahman Sangsad
The country’s Brahman community of the Hindu religion for the first time launched Bangladesh Brahman Sangsad in the city. The organisation was launched through a national Brahman delegates conference held on Thursday at the Bangladesh Railway Puja Mandir in city’s Shajahanpur area. Lt. Col. (retd) Niranjan Bhattacharya was elected as President while Bijay Krishna Bhattacharya was made General Secretary of the committee. While speaking Niranjan said the main objective of the Sangsad was to unite all Brahmans of the country and achieving Brahmanism. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Dev Das Bhattacharya and businessman Engineer Amiya Mukharjee also spoke on the occasion, among others.
