Daffodil International University
The closing ceremony of ‘DIU Winter Camp-2019’ of Daffodil International University (DIU) was held at 71 Milonayoton of the university yesterday. A total of 39 participants from SIAS International University China joined the winter camp at DIU started from 16 January until 21 January 2019. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was present as the Chief Guest. Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, VC of DIU and Prof Yang Jiaqing, Dean of Huanyu Residential College in SIAS University were present as the special guests Prof Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director of International Affairs of DIU presided over the programme. The participants of the DIU Winter Camp shared their week long experience gathered at Daffodil International University at the programme. At the end of the program Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman Daffodil International University handed over the Certificates among the participants.

University Grants Commission of Bangladesh

The inaugural ceremony of a two-day long workshop on ‘Annual Performance Agreement Management System’ was held at University Grants Commission of Bangladesh yesterday. UGC organised the workshop for making the activities of universities transparent, dynamic and vibrant, says a press release. Prof Abdul Mannan, Chairman, UGC was present as Chief Guest. Prof Dr M. Shah Nowaz Ali, Member, UGC presided over it. Professors Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Dr. Dil Afroza Begum, Dr Md. Akhtar Hossain, Members, UGC; Md. Belayet Hossain Talukder, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education and Dr. Md. Khaled, Secretary, UGC addressed as special guests on the occasion. Prof Mannan said that the objectives of the workshop are to make all concerned aware about the Annual Performance Agreement and ensure good governance and excellence in performance of tertiary level institutions. He urged all to work accordingly for the sake of country’s development. “We want to build result oriented educational institutions in Bangladesh,” he added. Prof Mannan also said there is no alternative to ensuring good governance and eradicating corruptions. “UGC will show zero tolerance towards corruption,” he warned. Senior officials from MoE, Ministry of Cultural Affairs and UGC were the resource persons at the workshop. Registrars, focal points of APA of 40 public universities of the country are participating in the workshop, says a press release.
