National Awami Party (NAP Bhasani)
A discussion organised on the occasion of Plassey Day by National Awami Party (NAP Bhasani) was held at its office in the city’s Purana Palton on Wednesday. In the discussion the speakers called upon the people to protect country from the second Plassey conspiracy. They urged the people to be alert against any anti-state conspiracy. The programme was addressed, among others by Secretary General of the organisation Hasru Khan Bhasani, its Senior Vice-Chairman Altaf Hossain Munna, Vice-Chairman Abdul Hye Sarker and its Joint Secretary General Imrul Kaes. Chairman of NAP Bhasani Sheikh Anwarul Haque presided over the function.
Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists
Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) expressed deep shock at the death of senior journalist Santosh Mandol. In a joint condolence message on Tuesday BFUJ Acting President Jafar Wazed and Secretary General Omar Faruque and DUJ President Shaban Mahmud and General Secretary Sohel Haidar Chowdhury recalled the contribution of Santosh Mandol to the field of journalism. Santosh Mandol’s death is an irreparable loss to the profession of journalism, they said.
The leaders prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal
An opinion sharing meeting organised by Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) was held at the residence of Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu in Kushtia on Tuesday. In the meeting Inu said secret killers have declared war against civilization and the state by killing innocent people.The minister cautioned the terrorists and said they will not be spared. Inu, also president of JSD, said this in the programme with the party leaders and supporters. Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Syed Belal Hossain, Superintendent of Police Proloy Chisim, Additional Superintendent of Police Joynal Abedin, UNO Shanti Moni Chakma, Organizing Secretary of JSD, Kushtia unit Abdul Alim Swapon and President of Zila JSD Golam Moni were present, among others.
