Bangladesh Nurses Association
Acting President and Secretary General of Bangladesh Nurses Association Ismat Ara Parvin and Jamal Uddin Badsha respectively in a joint statement issued on Friday have expressed deep condolence over the death of former General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam. They also extended profound sympathy to the bereaved family members. They prayed for the salvation of the departed soul of the deceased. The leaders recalled the contributions of Ashraful Islam in all democratic movements in Bangladesh including mass upsurge of 1990.
Bangladesh Society and Pathologists
The national conference organised by Bangladesh Society and Pathologists was held at Shaheed Dr. Milon Hall of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in the city. In the programme held recently National Professor Dr. Sahla Kathun was present as the chief guest while Vice-Chancellor of BSMMU Dr.Kanak Kanti Barua as the special guest. While speaking Sahla Khatun urged the doctors to be a good human being before becoming a good physician. President of the organisation Prof Dr M Iqbal Arslan presided over the event. The function was also addressed, among others, by Prof Dr Tahmina Hossain, Prof Dr Ruhul Amin Miah, Prof Dr Ahmed Abu Saleh and Associate Professor Dr Devtosh Pal. In the programme the speakers urged the government to take necessary steps to increase facilities for the physicians.
