Bangladesh Mess Organisation
A human chain organised by Bangladesh Mess Organisation was formed in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday demanding peaceful eleventh parliamentary election. In the programme the speakers urged the government to take necessary steps for holding peaceful and acceptable election. They also called upon political leaders & activists and common people to avoid any kind of conflict during the 11th parliamentary elections. The function was addressed, among others, by the activists of the organisation Syed Akhter Siraji, Mashiur Rahman and Neamatullah. Secretary General of the organisation Ayatullah Akhter presided over the event.
Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha
A workshop titled ‘Reviewing of SDGs Linked Policies and Programmes with Local Level Implementation Authorities’ organised by Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha, Netrakona unit in cooperation with Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) and Oxfam in Bangladesh was held at the conference room of Netrakona Circuit House. In the programme held recently the speakers underlined the need for enhancing participation of community based organisations for achieving the target of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to build a ‘hunger and poverty free Sonar Bangla’. A total of 30 persons including officers of government and non-government organisations and journalists participated in the workshop. The function was addressed, among others, by Manager of the sangha Ali Amzad Khan, Senior Assistant Fellow of CPD Mustafa Amir Sabbih and senior Programme Officer of Oxfam in Bangladesh Mustafa Ali.
