Bangladesh Mahila Parishad
A discussion organised jointly by Bangladesh Mahila Parishad and Student Welfare and Counseling Centre of Jahangirnagar University was held at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium on the campus of JU marking the International Women Repression Prevention Fortnight-2018 and the World Human Rights Day.Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr Farzana Islam was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Farzana urged everyone for resisting sexual harassment on women. She said, “Prevention of sexual harassment is a social movement. We must have to forget the discrimination between men and women and consider ourselves only as human beings.” Students and teachers of different departments and institutes took part in discussion. The function was also addressed, among others, by JU Treasurer Prof Sheikh Monzurul Huq and President of the central committee of the parishad Ayesha Khanam. Director of Students Welfare and Counseling Centre Prof Rasheda Akhter presided over the event.
