Gulshan Club
Showkat Aziz Russell has been re-elected unopposed as the President of the Gulshan Club Limited for the year 2018-19 in the 40th annual general meeting of the club held recently. Ten other elected members of the Board of Directors of the club are: Minhaz Kamal Khan, Tahmina Rehman, Naushad Shahriar Sayeed, Md Abdullah, Rafiqul Alam (Helal), Dr Misbahul Alam Khan, Matiur Rahman Chowdhury (Dulal), Chowdhury Moazzem Hossain (Arif), MKM Kamal Uddin and Dr Md Wahiduzzaman (Tamal).
Bandhu Social Welfare Society
A discussion on ‘SDGs Attainment through Inclusive Development: Social Integration of 3rd Gender and Institutional Responsibilities’ organised by Bandhu Social Welfare Society was held at Hotel Warishan in Rajshahi. In the programme held recently the speakers called for ensuring fundamental rights especially the health, social and legal rights of the transgender people for uplifting their living standard for the sake of inclusive development of the country. They said the society, as a whole, should come forward with positive attitude toward the extreme socially excluded people for their coexistence in society. Chief Medical Officer of Rajshahi University Dr Tabibur Rahman Sheikh addressed the meeting as the chief guest. The function was also addressed, among others, by President of Diner Alo Hizra Sangha Miss Mohna, its General Secretary Sagarika Khan and Director of Barendra Unnayan Prochesta Foyzullah Chowdhury.
