Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal
A rally organised by Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) was held in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city on Thursday. In the rally the speakers bitterly criticized India’s conspiracy to make Bangladesh as desert country through Inter-River Linking Project. After the rally a memorandum was submitted to the State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam. The rally was addressed, among others, by Comrade Bazlur Rashid Firoj, Zahedul Haque Milu and Rajekuzzaman Ratan. General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed and Founder of Ganoswasthya Kendra Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury expressed their solidarity with the programme of the organisation. General Secretary of BSD Comrade Khalequzzaman presided over the event.
Janmastami Udjapan Parishad
A human chain organised by Shri Shri Janmastami Udjapan Parishad was formed in front of Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday. In the programme the speakers strongly protested attacks on religious minority and secret series killings in different places of the country. The event was addressed, among others, by Vice-President of the parishad Engineer Sahadev Baidya, General Secretary of Bangbandhu Sangskritik Jote Arun Sarker Rana, General Secretary of International Society for the Krishna Consciousness Charu Chandra Brahmachari and President of the Hindu Mahajote Advocate Gavinda Pramanik. President of the organisation Ramesh Chandra Ghosh presided over the function.
