Bam Ganotantrik Jote
A rally organised by Bam Ganotantrik Jote was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Tuesday. In the programme the leaders of the organisation demanded free, fair and participatory election. The function was addressed, among others, by President of Communist Party of Bangladesh Mujahidul Islam Selim, central leader of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal Bazlur Rashid Firoj, Chief Coordinator of Ganosanghati Andolon Zonaed Saki, General Secretary of United Communist League Mosharraf Hossain Nannu and central leader of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist) Manash Nandi. Coordinator of the jote and General Secretary of Biplabi Workers’ Party Saiful Haque presided over the event.
Bangladesh Endocrine Society
A conference on endocrinology organised by Bangladesh Endocrine Society was held at a hotel in the city. In the programme held recently the speakers said nowadays endocrine disorders are very common in the world. They expressed the society will play an active role in the field of endocrine treatment in the country. Noted five endocrinologists from different countries and eight from home presented keynote papers in the conference. About 400 endocrinologists and diabetes experts from home and abroad participated in the function. President of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh Prof Dr AK Azad Khan attended the inaugural session of the conference as the chief guest. The ceremony was also attended, among others, by Prof Hajera Mahtab, Prof AR Khan, Prof Zafar Ahmed Latif, Prof Kishwar Azad, Vice-President of the society Prof Md Farid Uddin and its Organizing Secretary Dr Shahjada Selim. President of the organisation Prof Dr Faruk Pathan presided over the event.
