Leaders and activists of Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Party paid rich tributes to Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haq by placing floral wreaths at his mazar in the city on Friday marking the birth anniversary of Sher-e-Bangla. After placing wreaths they offered prayers for the salvation of the departed soul. The programme was attended, among others, by Chairman of Sher-e-Bangla Smrity Academy Fazlur Rahman Khan, Advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court Dr. Mohammad Shah Alam, Vice-Chairman of the organisation ABM Selimuzzaman and its Organizing Secretary MA Baten Khalifa. In the function the speakers urged all to vote for Awami League with a view to continuing developmemt spree of the country. They called upon all the pro-liberation forces to be united to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build Bangladesh as ‘Sonar Bangla’ dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Nat’l Skill Development Council
The second phase of a selection contest styled ‘Rising Star Skill Competition’ in fashion technology category concluded at the certified laboratory of Underprivileged Children’s Education Programmes was held in the city’s Mirpur area recently. National Skill Development Council in association with team group organized the competition to find out the right competitors for participating in the 45th World Skill Competition scheduled to be held at Kazan in Russia from August 22 to 23 in 2019. A total of 50 contestants from different universities took part at the competition. Out of them, five will be primarily selected for an 11-month-long training and after completion of the training two will be finally selected for participating in the competition. The country is going to participate in the World Skill Competition for the first time in 2019.
