Bangladesh Airlines Pilots’ Association
Captain Mahbubur Rahman and Captain Sayed Nazmul Hasan were elected as President and General Secretary respectively of the Bangladesh Airlines Pilots’ Association for 2018-19. The Mahbub-Nazmul Panel secured all the nine posts of the executive committee in the election held on Sunday. Captain A M Maksud Ahmed was elected as Vice-President, First Officer S M Musaur Rahman as Joint Secretary (admin), First Officer Gholam Abed as Joint Secretary (operation) and First Officer Mukassit Hossain as Treasurer. Captain Sajedul Haque, Captain Imamul Islam and First Officer Sadat Jamil were elected as the executive members for the new committee.
JU Science Club
The ‘Fifth Math Olympiad-2018’ was held at Jahangirnagar University (JU) with festive mood. Jahangirnagar University (JU) Science Club organized the contest recently on the Jahangirnagar University School and College premises with the slogan “Ganit Niye Vabbe Joto, Shanito Hobe Buddhi Toto”. Director of Wazed Miah Science Research Centre and also the adviser of the club Professor Khabir Uddin inaugurated the contest. Addressing the inaugural session, Professor Khabir Uddin said, “Mathematics is the mother of all sciences. One’s mental ability and creativity increase with practice of mathematics.” President of the club Khandakar Oaliullah, former JU Proctor Prof Tapon Kumar Shaha, Prof Kabirul Bashar, Prof Shahedur Rahman and Associate Professor Sharif Hossain were present among others. Around 4,000 students of class VI to XII from over 100 schools and colleges across the country took part in the contest.
