Manarat College
The fervor of Science Fair has been prevailing at Manarat College for almost one week. Students of different classes were very busy with their science projects. M. Omar Ali, former professor of Department of Applied Chemistry, Rajshahi University, former acting Vice Chancellor of Manarat University and member of Manarat Trust inaugurated the fair in the college campus yesterday. Hafizul Islam Mia, Member of Manarat Trust and Acting VC of Manarat University, ATM Fazlul Haque, Member of Manarat Trust and former professor of Dhaka University, were present in the inauguration ceremony. The fair was also illuminated with the presence of Brig Gen (Retd) Md Mehdi Hassan Pramanik, psc, Principal of MDIC, Fatima Jemaima Rahman and Mohammad Farooque, Vice Principals of MDIC. Among the senior teachers S.M. Serajul Islam and Tahmina Yeasmeen, coordinators of Boys’ and Girls’ sections respectively, Salina Khatun and Md. Shariat Ullah Akanda, conveners of Science Fair, were also present in the ceremony. Students from standard III to A Levels participated in the fair. Many of the visitors opined that these young talents can also turn into great scientists who can contribute in the advancement of science and technology if they are provided with suitable environment and nurtured properly, says a press release.
Bangladesh Shishu Academy (BSA)
Child-friendly environment and congenial academic atmosphere must be ensured in educational institutions to properly flourish latent talents of all children for becoming worthy citizens of the nation. The observation came at the concluding and prize distribution function of the World Children’s Day- 2018 and World Children’s Rights Week- 2018 held at District Shishu Academy auditorium in the Rangpur city on Saturday evening. The district administration jointly with district unit of Bangladesh Shishu Academy (BSA) organised the event followed by a colourful cultural function that ended there at night. Government officials, children of different child organisations, students and teachers of different educational institutions, guardians, civil society members, professionals, public representatives and local elite were present.
