Debate for Democracy
A shadow parliamentary debate competition organised by Debate for Democracy was held at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) in the city’s Tejgaon. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia was present as the chief guest in the programme held on the sixth instant. While speaking Asaduzzaman said collective effort of all as well as changed mindset are must to ensure safe road. Bangladesh University of Business and Technology has won the debate defeating Stamford University Bangladesh. He put forward a number of reasons for road accidents which included reckless driving, carelessness of drivers, inefficiency and lack of professionalism of drivers, lack of interest in using zebra-crossings and foot-over bridges while crossing road and insufficient infrastructures.
