A seminar on ‘Ethics in Our Life’ was organised by DIU Textile Club at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University on Saturday . Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was present in the programme as Chief Guest while Dr. Manzur-E-Elahi, Associate Professor, Dept. of Islamic Studies of National University, Gazipur was present as the keynote speaker of the seminar. Addressing as chief guest Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said that ethics is compulsory for human life. Man is different from other animal only because of ethics. So that everyone should practices ethics in everyday life. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan also said that at first we have to fix our intention. And we will have to follow our religious instruction for practicing ethics. For that he urged the students to follow the instruction of the holly Quran’s. He also said, Ethical education is a lifelong process which starts from childhood. Family is the main institution for practicing ethics. So, it’s very essential to ensure ethical practices first from our family, he added. While delivering keynote speech Dr. Manzur-E-Elahi said, though world is moving fast and developing of human community, the society is continuously going down.
Banophool Adibashi Green Heart College
A colourful freshers’ reception, annual prize -giving ceremony and cultural programme was held at Banophool Adibashi Green Heart College on Saturday. Founder and Chairman of the College governing body Ven. Prajnananda Mahathera presided over the programme. Popular writer Prof Dr. Muhammed Zafar Iqbal was present in the ceremony as chief guest. Education adviser in this College Professor Ashraf Ali was present in the ceremony as special guest. Rector of the Banophool Adibashi Green Heart College Sajal Chandra Sarkar delivered the welcome speech and Principal Sudip Kumar Mandal gave concluding speech at the ceremony. Departmental heads, teachers and a large number of students and guardians attended the function. Dr. Muhammed Zafar Iqbal distributed crests and prizes among the winners in the prize giving ceremony phase. At the end of the ceremony, a cultural function was organised by the college students, says a press release.
BUBT
The Self-Assessment Committee of the Department of English of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) under HEQEP Project of World Bank organised a two-day-long workshop on Outcome-based Curriculum in the conference room of Campus-2 of the University recently. With the active participation of the faculty members who teach different subjects in this department. On the inauguration day of the workshop, Guest of Honour, Professor Santi N. Ghosh, Director, IQAC, Special Guests Professor Md. EnayetHossain Mia, Treasurer of BUBT and Professor Mia LutfarRahman, Chief Co-ordinator. Co-curricular Activities, BUBT, Programme Chair, Professor Syed AnwarulHuq, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Chairman of the Department of English, Mohammad Shawkat Ali were present. The Resource person of the workshop was professor Dr. Razzab Ali, Department of Entomology, Sher-E-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka. The Director of IQAC in his speech mentioned that HEQEP has taken a initiative to improve the quality education of the country where following outcome-based curriculum is a must. Professor Mia LutfarRahman, Chief Coordinator, Co-curricular activities appreciated the department for starting this task of preparing outcome based curriculum. “This is the need of present time” said professor syedAnwarulHuq, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The inauguration programme was also attended by controller of examinations, proctor, assistant proctor and other officials. At the end of the day, the participants received a specific guideline from the workshop to prepare outcome-based curriculum.
