Communist Party of Bangladesh
A memorial meeting on former Adviser of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Central Committee Comrade Jashim Uddin Mondal was held in Moitree Auditorium of Muktibhaban in the city’s Purana Palton on Tuesday. CPB organised the programme marking the first death anniversary of Jashim with its President Comrade Mujahidul Islam Selim in the chair. In the function the speakers recalled the contributions of Jashim in inspiring thousands of youths with the ideology of the communist. The event was addressed, among others, by Adviser of the CPB Central Committee Comrade Manjurul Ahsan Khan, General Secretary of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal Comrade Khalequzzaman, General Secretary of Biplabi Workers Party Comrade Saiful Haque and Presidium Member of Oikya NAP Advocate SMA Sabur.
Islamic Front Bangladesh
A rally organised by Islamic Front Bangladesh was held at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in city. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim was present as the chief guest in the programme held on Monday. While speaking Nasim ruled out the possibility of accepting BNP’s seven-point demands, terming those as unrealistic. The minister called upon the BNP leaders to join next national election shunning all sorts of conditions. “BNP has no alternative to participate in the elections, no matter what they say. Their existence would be at stake if they don’t join the elections eventually,” he said. Nasim urged the BNP leaders to repose faith in people of the country as they would vote for their preferred party and AL will accept defeat if people don’t elect them. “We won’t go beyond the Constitution. So please get ready for joining the election as per the Constitution,” he added. Chairman of the organisation Syed Bahadur Shah presided over the function.
