Asiatic Society of Bangladesh
A special lecture (2018-2019) of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh will be held today in its auditorium in the city at 4 pm. Dr Anindita Ghoshal, Assistant Professor of History, Diamond Harbor Women’s University, Kolkata, West Bengal, India will speak on ‘Living Between the Giants: Livelihood, Demography and Changing Identities in the Post-1947 Assam.
Bangabandhu Gabeshana Parishad
A discussion marking the 72nd birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina organised by Bangabandhu Gabeshana Parishad was held on Friday at the Jatiya Press Club. Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haq was present in the programme as the chief guest.While speaking Mozammel urged all including the new generation to pursue the good qualities of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The minister said Sheikh Hasina has been recognized as the world leader for her outstanding efforts for the welfare of the country. “Sheikh Hasina is working courageously to materialize the ideology of Bangabandhu and spirit of the Liberation War in all strata,” the minister added. President of the parishad Lion Mohammad Gani Mia Babul presided over the event. The function was also addressed, among others, by Chief Whip ASM Feroz, Poet Kazi Rozi, MP, Bangladesh Krishi Bank Chairman Mohammad Ismail and former Vice-Chairman of Bangladesh Muktijoddah Sangsad Central Command Council Ismat Kadir Gama.
