A free eye camp for the underprivileged people was held at Onirban Urban Community Learning Centerpremises in Pallabi in the city on Saturday. The eye camp was organised by the Eye Care Project of Manabik Sahajya Sangstha with the technical assistance of Prime Bank Eye Hospital, Dhaka. The eye camp provided eye screening services, distributed eye glasses and identified cataract patients who will be operated shortly at our partner hospital. All services at the camp were provided for free. A total of 474 patients were screened, 190 free eye glasses were provided and 56 cataract patients were identified for surgery at Pallabi, Mirpur , Dhaka eye camp. “ECP is committed to provide eye care services including eye screening, eye glasses and medicines, identify cataract patients and facilitate eye surgeries of the underserved people in remote areas ” said MSS President Mr. Feroz M Hasan. ECP-MSS is working to eliminate curable blindness in Bangladesh. ECP beliefs that nobody should remain blind due to poverty, says a press release, says a press release.

Dr Md. Sabur Khan Founder and Chairman, Daffodil International University (DIU) has been honored as the guest professor for his great contribution to development of academic relations between DIU & Changchun University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), the university which is dedicated to producing economists, scientists, researchers, professionals and future leaders in this region. The recognition was conferred by Li Shufeng, President, CUFE, Changchun, China in presence of a good number of audience and delegation on September 15, 2018 during the 30th anniversary ceremony of the CUFE establishment and the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) forum held in CUFE, says a press release.  
Centre for Global Environmental Culture
A Day long workshop on “Adaptation of Global Citizenship Education (GCE) document in Bangladesh for Education for Sustainable development (ESD)” was held at IUBAT-International University of Business Agriculture and Technology recently. The workshop was jointly organised by Centre for Global Environmental Culture (CGEC) of IUBAT and The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Bangladesh. The aim of the workshop is adaptation of GCE document translated by CGEC team of IUBAT in a project. Mrs. Sun Lei, Education Specialist of UNESCO Dhaka was the special guest and Prof Dr. Abdur Rab, VC of IUBAT presided over the program. ESD experts in Bangladesh Dr. Nazrul Islam from BRAC, Zia-us-Sabur, Abdur Rouf of CAMPE, Mr. Shaharuzzaman from BNFE were present in the workshop as invited guest. The workshop started with welcoming address by Prof. Dr MA Rahman, Director CGEC and ESD of IUBAT. Keynote speech was delivered by Dr. M.R. Dastagir, ESD Expert of IUBAT. Brig Gen Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain (Retd), Pro-vice chancellor of IUBAT also delivered his speech in the workshop, says a press release.
