Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote
A discussion on August 21 organized by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote was held at the Jatiya Press Club. Awami League Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest in the programme held on the twentieth instant. While speaking Hasan said Tarique Rahman orchestrated the monstrous grenade attack on Awami League rally on August 21, 2004, with the consent of his mother Begum Khaleda Zia. “Khaleda Zia was in power at the time of the attack and her son Tarique was the main driving force in notorious Hawa Bhaban. They tried to cover up the matter after the attack. That is why Khaleda too should be brought to justice for her role over the incident or else the trial would remain incomplete,” he added. The function was also addressed, among others, by Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Secretary General Shaban Mahmud, Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) General Secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury and Awami League leader Balaram Poddar. Adviser of the organisation Chittaranjan Das presided over the event.
