Bangladesh Public Relations Association cuts a cake to mark its 39th anniversary at The Daily Star Centre on Saturday. Director General of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Md. Shah Alamgir, President of Economic Reporters Forum Saif Islam Dilal, President of Bangladesh Public Relations Association Mostafa-E-Jamil & Secretary General Moniruzzaman Tipu, Media person along with Public Relations Officer of different organization were also present on the occasion. It is mentionable that Bangladesh Public Relations Association formed on July 22, 1979. From the beginning, BPRA has been working to develop professional skill on Public relations and branding activities, says a press release.
Save the Children
A day-long training on dead body management during emergency was held in the capital on Saturday with a call for making skilled female volunteers for handling female bodies during disaster. Members of ward disaster management committee, Ward 29 and 30 of Dhaka North City Corporation, took part in the programme held at Padakkhep Manobik Unnayan Kendra at Baitul Aman Housing Society in city’s Adabor thana. Addressing on the occasion, the speakers called upon city the dwellers to take part in rescue operation to save lives and properties during disaster in the capital. They stressed on mass awareness about the issue and proper training of local people for facing any disaster, which may cause massive damages if not managed properly. The participants were imparted both theoretical and practical knowledge on management of victims, including bodies, during disaster. Save the Children and Community Participation and Development (CPD) jointly organised the programme with support from European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO). Training experts–Sabina Chowdhury and Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Hiro conducted the training session. Shukla Tagore, Mushfiqua Mosharef from Save the Children, Mohammad Fazlul Hoque and Mohammad Akther Hussain Mithu from CPD were present at the function, says a press release.
