A training workshop on ‘Cultivation of Medicinal Plants and Their Post Harvesting Management’ organised jointly by Bangladesh Herbal Products Manufacturers’ Association (BHPMA) and Medicinal Plants and Herbal Products Business Promotion Council was held at a local auditorium in Senpara area in Rangpur recently. .In the programme the speakers stressed the need for expanding cultivation of medicinal plants and proper post-harvest management to preserve their curative values. They called upon the manufacturers of ayurvedic, unani, herbal and homeopathic medicines for producing the drugs to ensure high quality and international standard for welfare of the human. The speakers laid emphasis on expanding cultivation of medicinal plants adopting scientific methods and conserving and re-propagating endangered medicinal plants for preserving their medicinal values also to improve bio-diversity and ecology. The function was attended, among others, by Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development Dilgir Alam, Hakeem Alhaj Md Moksedul Alam and Hakeem Dr Anwar Hossain Mostaq. Executive member of BHPMA and Principal of Modern Unani Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital Abdur Rab Khan presided over the event.
