President and General Secretary of Jatiya Mukti Council Badruddin Umar and Foizul Hakim respectively in a statement on Thursday bitterly criticized police attack on unemployed nurses in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on June 1 last. They demanded exemplary punishment to the police officials who were involved in the undesirable attack on nurses. The leaders called upon the government to meet the demands of unemployed nurses immediately, otherwise, they will forge greater movement to meet the demands of the unemployed nurses.

A discussion on ‘Bangabandhu and Cultural Movement of Bangladesh’ jointly organised by Online Journalists Association of SAARC and Search Newsbd.com was held recently in Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad Auditorium in the city’s Topkhana Road. In the discussion Central President of Bangabandhu Gabeshona Parishad Lion Mohammad Gani Miah Babul was present as the special guest. While speaking Babul called upon all to work together to build happy and prosperous Bangladesh being inspired with the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and perception of the Liberation War. The programme was addressed, among others, by State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga, former State Minister M Nazim Uddin Al Azad, Managing Director of Royal Plastic Industries Limited Noor Uddin Molla and Managing Director of Tanim Air and Sea Cargo Limited Sarwar Hossain. President of SAARC Film Journalists Forum Reduan Khondkar presided over the function.
