Bangabandhu Gabeshana Parishad
A discussion on the 99th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and also National Children’s Day organised by Bangabandhu Gabeshana Parishad was held on the premises of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the city’s 32, Dhanmondi on Saturday. The parishad paid tributes to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at his portrait. In the programme Poet Kazi Rosy, MP was present as the chief guest. While speaking Rosy said March 17 is the birthday of Bangabandhu. This day is the inseparable part of Bangalee’s history and heritage. Central President of the parishad Lion Md. Gani Mia Babul presided over the event. In his address, Gani Mia said Bangabandhu is the source of inspiration and power of the Bangalee nation. Bangabandh’s ideal is the supreme assets of Bangalee nation. The function was also addressed, among others, by Assistant Registrar of the National University Runa Begum, President of Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad Zinnat Ali Khan Zinnah, Publicity Secretary of the parishad Advocate Khan Chaman-e-Elahi and President of Jatiya Ganotantrik League MA Jalil. Besides, a discussion on ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’ was also held at its central office in the city’s Purana Paltan on the occasion.
Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee
The special prayer session on the occasion of 99th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mijibur Rahman and also National Children’s Day organised by Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee was held on the premises of Shri Shri Dhakeshwari Jatiya Mandir in the city on Saturday for the salvation of the departed soul of Bangabandhu. The function was attended, among others, by journalist Swapan Kumar Saha, Sujit Roy Nandi, Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee and Balaram Poddar. President of the committee DN Chatterjee presided over the event.
