A discussion on ‘Ekush Amar Prerona’ organised by Natundhara Bangladesh was held in Shaheed Munier Chowdhury Auditorium of TSC of Dhaka University on Thursday. In the programme the speakers said that the inspiration of ‘Ekush’ is the source of strength for the new generation. The function was addressed, among others, by Chairman of the organisation Momin Mehedi, its Senior Vice-Chairman Shanta Farzana, Presidium Member Professor Shuvankar Devnath, Vice-Chairman Dr. Noorjahan Nira, Senior Joint Secretary General Mahmud Hasan Taher and its Deputy Treasurer Altaf Hossain Raihan.

Women Workers’ Conference-2018 organised by ‘Karmajibi Nari’ was held at BIAM Bhaban in the city. Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan was present as the chief guest at the programme held recently. While speaking Shajahan said women will have to play a leading role for their advancement.The minister said the women should acquire leadership skill for their empowerment. “The leadership skill is built in an organisation” he added. “If women workers move on equal footings, they will have to unify their thinking” said the minister. Shajahan also said the progress of the world will slow down without the development of women. ‘Karmajibi Nari’ founding President, Shirin Akthar, MP, presided over the event.The function was also addressed, among others, by CPD Research Director Dr Khandaker Golam Moazzem, Bangladesh Garment Textile Workers Federation President Shamima Akhter Shirin and Director of Care Bangladesh Humayra Aziz.
