WaterAid Bangladesh
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) in collaboration with WaterAid Bangladesh constructed a modern public toilet in the city’s Gulshan-2 on Sunday with the funding of H&M Foundation to meet urgent necessity of dwellers in clean, safe and hygienic environment. Panel Mayor of DNCC Osman Gani inaugurated the toilet in presence of DNCC Chief Executive Officer M Mesbahul Islam. Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), DNCC and Dhaka WASA, in partnership with WaterAid Bangladesh, have been working in the last few years to provide clean, safe and hygienic public toilets for the country’s citizens. Through this collaboration, several modern, accessible public toilets have already been constructed throughout the city. Osman Gani said, “With the inauguration of public toilet, I believe everyone will be benefitted. I would request not only users, but all of us to help in keeping these facilities neat and clean.” The function was also addressed, among others, by Dr Md Khairul Islam, Country Director of WaterAid Bangladesh, Councilor of ward no. 19 of DNCC Mofizur Rahman.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal
A view-exchange meeting with the leaders and activists of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal was held in Kushtia Circuit House. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present as the chief guest in the programme held on Sunday.While speaking Inu said BNP is doing ill politics over the election-time supportive government. “BNP is misleading the nation over the election-time government. They could not come up with an outline about the election-time government as the party is beset with confusions,” BNP has failed to come up with a clear framework on the type of the government under which the polls would be held. They are repeating their past mistakes, he added. Regarding Dhaka North City Corporation polls, Inu said the government is not afraid of giving elections. The election of local bodies would be held in time as per constitution. The function was attended, among others, by district Joint General Secretary of the party Zillur Rahman and President of Mirpur Upazila JSD Ahmed Ali.
