A discussion organised by newly floated political party Janaswarthe Bangladesh was held at its central office in the city’s Pallabi on Saturday. In the programme the speakers demanded enhancement of commission of mobile phone recharge traders. They warned that mobile phone recharge traders will forge greater movement if their demand is not met immediately. The function was addressed, among others, by President of the organisation Babul Hossain Jamadar, its Secretary General Saiful Islam, Vice-Presidents Abdur Rashid, Mohammad Ibrahim and Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, Joint Secretary General Ibrahim Khan, Organizing Secretary Ibrahim Hasan Mithu and Treasurer Kamal Khan. The speakers also urged the government to take necessary steps to give loan for the mobile phone recharge traders.
Greater Mymensingh Sangskritik Forum
The Silver Jubilee festival of Greater Mymensingh Sangskritik Forum was held at Public Library in the city. In the programme held on the fifth instant the newly inducted Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar was present as the chief guest. While speaking Jabbar said conventional education system is needed to be changed for developing the student as more skillful. “We couldn’t build up the future generation properly for their livelihood with the existing education system. So, the curricula and teaching method of education should be made time befitting,” he added. He assured the forum of establishing an international folk cultural centre in Mymensingh. He inaugurated a colorful rally as part of the festival on the premises of public library. The function was also addressed, among others, by Chief Coordinator (SDG) of the Prime Minister’s Office Md Abul Kalam Azad, Secretary of the Shipping Ministry Abdus Samad, Kazi Nazrul University Vice-Chancellor A K M Mustafizur Rahman and General Secretary of the organisation Rashedul Hasan Sheli.
