Kabi Sangsad Bangladesh
A discussion on the 20th founding anniversary of Kabi Sangsad Bangladesh was held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad in the city’s Topkhana Road. In the programme held recently the speakers underscored the role of poets for the development and advancement of the country. They said poets are playing pioneering role for the welfare of country and its people. They called upon all to exercise literature for the flourishing of country’s culture and building of happy society. The programme was addressed, among others, by Chairman of the permanent council of the organisation Lion Mohammad Gani Mia Babul, child litterateur Rafiqul Haque Dadu Bhai, President of the organisation Dr Arif Bin Islam, Poet Asad Kazol and Begum Shamsuj Zahan Noor. Poet Bappi Rahman, Poet Faruque Prodhan, Poet Bappi Saha, Akhtar Jahan Mili and Anjuman Ara Sheuly recited their self-composed poems, among others. A cultural function was also held on the occasion.
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote
A memorial meeting on late Awami League leader Abdur Razzak organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote was held at the Jatiya Press Club marking the death anniversary of veteran AL leader Abdur Razzak. In the programme AL Presidium Member and also Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim was present as the chief guest. While speaking Nasim said the people would serve ‘red notice’ on BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in the next elections. Nasim said the next elections will be held according to the provision of parliamentary democracy. “Please don’t create any controversy over the elections. Don’t try to leave the election field,” he told BNP. About the defeat of the Awami League candidate in the Rangpur City Corporation election, he said, “We have accepted the verdict of the people. We will analyze the reasons for our candidate’s debacle and weaknesses in our party forum,” he added. The minister said that if one is defeated in the election, one should have the mentality to accept this.
