Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote
A memorial meeting on late Awami League leader Abdur Razzak organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote was held at the Jatiya Press Club on Saturday marking the sixth death anniversary of Razzak. In the programme Awami League Presidium Member and also Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim was present as the chief guest. While speaking Nasim said the people would serve ‘red notice’ on BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in the next elections. Nasim said the next elections will be held according to the provision of parliamentary democracy. “Please don’t create any controversy over the elections. Don’t try to leave the election field,” he told BNP. About the defeat of the Awami League candidate in the Rangpur City Corporation election, he said, “We have accepted the verdict of the people. We will analyze the reasons for our candidate’s debacle and weaknesses in our party forum,” he added. The minister said that if one is defeated in the election, one should have the mentality to accept this. The function was addressed, among others, by Dhaka South City AL General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, Vice-President of the organisation Mubarak Ali Sikder and General Secretary of the jote Arun Sarkar Rana. Founding Organising Secretary of the jote Sahara Begum Kabori presided over the event.
Baridhara Society
The 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Baridhara Society was held at Baridhara Park on Last Friday evening. President M. Eashanul Haq, General Secretary Monsur Uddin Ahmed, including all members and executive committee of Baridhara Society welcomed the annual general meeting 2017. Among others Wakil Uddin Ahmed, Reaz Uddin Ahmed, Convener Dr. Naima Reza Chowdhury, Yousuf Ali Chowdhury, Mrs. Zeenat Ara Alam (Shahinoor), Mustaqur Rahman Mazumder, Mrs. Hasina Bari Chowdhury and Mrs. Asma Banu and invited guests were present on the occasion.
