A discussion on ‘Role against Terrorism’ organised by Amra Muktijoddhar Santan was held in the Conference Lounge of the Jatiya Press Club on Saturday. In the programme the speakers said there is no alternative to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to implement the perception of the Liberation War and also resisting terrorism. They called upon all pro-liberation forces to be united for the sake of Awami League and also for the greater interest of the nation. The function was addressed, among others, by State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Captain (Retd) AB Tajul Islam, MP, former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, former Army Chief and Sub-Sector Commander Lt. Gen Harun-or-Rashid, Adviser of the organisation Shafiqul Bahar Majumder Tipu, Awami League leader MA Karim and President of the organisation’s central committee Hamayun Kabir. President of the organisation, Dhaka Zilla unit Sharif Surya presided over the event.
Damudda Upazila Juba Kalyan Trust
A memorial meeting organised on late national leader Abdur Razzak by Damudda Upazila Juba Kalyan Trust was held at the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Friday marking his sixth death anniversary. Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Dr Abdur Razzak was present as the chief guest. While speaking Razzak said the next national election will be held as per constitution and BNP will have to come in the election under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. “Next national election will be held in schedule time. The interim government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will assist the election commission,” he added. Damudda Upazila Juba Kalyan Trust President Asaduzzaman Azam presided over the function. The programme was attended, among others, by Dhaka South City Awami League General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Krishak League Advocate Khandakar Shamsul Haque Reza and AL leader Barrister Zakir Hossain.
