Urdu Speaking Peoples Youth Rehabilitation Movement, BD
A rally organised by Urdu Speaking Peoples Youth Rehabilitation Movement (USPYRM), BD was held in front of its office in the city’s Mirpur on Wednesday. In the rally the speakers demanded trial of those involved in Kalshi mass killings. They also demanded of the Government to take necessary steps for the rehabilitation of the Urdu speaking people living in Bangladesh and ensure their rights of vote. The programme was addressed, among others, by Chief Adviser of Nagorik Oikya SM Akram, General Secretary of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal Khalequzzaman Bhuiyan, General Secretary of the organisation Shahid Ali Bablu and President of Welfare Mission of Biharis Mostak Ahmed. President of USPYRM Sadakat Khan Fakku presided over the event.
Faridpur Sahitya Sanskriti Unnayan Sangstha
A comprehensive programme marking 400th death anniversary of great English litterateur, poet William Shakespeare organised jointly by Faridpur Shahitya Sanskriti Unnayan Sangstha (FSSUS) and Faridpur Shakespeare Society was held in the auditorium of Shilpakala Academy in Faridpur on Tuesday. The programme included exhibition of the popular quotations of Shakespeare and discussion meeting. In the event the speakers recalled the contributions of Shakespeare in the field of literature and poem. Prof. Rezvi Zaman, a teacher of English Department of Government Rajendra College, Faridpur presented an elaborate discussion on Shakespeare. The function was presided over by FSSUS President and freedom fighter Abul Faez Shahnawj. A large number of teachers, students and elite were present on the occasion.
