Ganotantrik Bam Morcha
A rally organised jointly by Ganotantrik Bam Morcha, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) and Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) was held in front of the National Press Club. In the programme held on the twenty second instant the speakers bitterly criticized the conspiracy to increase price of electricity. They also protested the price hike of other essentials including rice. General Secretary of CPB Mohammad Shah Alam presided over the function. The rally was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque, central leader of BSD Bazlur Rashid Firoz. The event was attended, among others, by Chief Coordinator of Ganasanghati Andolon Zonaed Saki, General Secretary of Ganotantrik Biplabi Party Moshrefa Mishu and CPB Presidium Member Abdullah Kafi Ratan.
Lions Club of Dhaka Parijat
A rally in observance of Diabetes Service Week organised jointly by Lions Club of Dhaka Parijat and Lions Club of Dhaka Regency District 315 B1, Bangladesh was brought out recently in Manikganj town. Acting Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj Md Abdul Matin led the rally. People of all walks of life participated in the rally that paraded the main roads of the town and ended on Zila Parishad premises. A discussion was also held at the auditorium of Zila Parishad. Lion Shafiqul Alam Bhuiyan, former District Governor of Bangladesh Lions Clubs International presided over the event. District Cabinet Secretary Farida Yasmin, President of the Club Lion Md Akramuzzaman, Lion Rakibul Hassan and Lion Farhana Afroz Lipi, among others, participated in the function. Dr Md Nuruzzaman elaborately discussed the services to the diabetic patients. He advised the diabetic patients to lead a discipline life, taking regular exercise, eating food and having medicines according to the doctors’ advice.
Free treatment was given to a number of diabetic patients, including tests on the occasion.
