Bangladesh Mess Organisation
A rally organised by Bangladesh Mess Organisation was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday. In the programme the speakers expressed grave concern over the influx of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. They urged Myanmar Government to bring back Rohingya refugees immediately. The function was addressed, among others, by Secretary General of the organisation Ayatullah Akhter, Garo leader Liton Drong, Syed Akhter Siraji, Kazi Hasan and Al-Amin Rezvi.
Hunger Project Bangladesh
A training workshop on “Transparency, Accountability, Inclusiveness and Citizenship” organised by The Hunger Project Bangladesh (THPB) in association with ‘Promoting Democratic Inclusion and Governance through Youths (PRODIGY)’ project and British Council was held at Postal Academy in Rajshahi. Speakers at a function held on the fifteenth instant unanimously underlined the need for ensuring capacity building support to the youths so that they can flourish their leadership uniqueness. They viewed the youths through best uses of their gained leadership personalities can boost peoples participation to the local governance system for ensuring their transparency, accountability and inclusiveness. A total of 36 youths both male and female took part in the training. The programme was addressed, among others, by Ward Councilor of Rajshahi City Corporation Md Quamruzzaman, General Secretary of Rajshahi Rakhha Sangram Parishad Jamat Khan and its Member Jobayed Hossain, Central Councilor of Institution of Diploma Engineers Khaza Tareque and Field Coordinator (Monitoring and Operations) Subrata Kumar Paul. The training included several individual and group presentations on social issues through which participants demonstrated their creativities and communication skills.
