Bangladesh Orthodontic Society
The third international and sixth national conference of Bangladesh Orthodontic Society (BOS) started in a city hotel on Friday. The theme of the conference is “Orthodontics-beyond the boundaries”.Many eminent international speakers shared their knowledge about different aspects of the event, which was attended by more than 200 qualified orthodontists (specialist dental surgeons).This congress intends to provide a vibrant platform among budding orthodontic professionals and the many international speakers, especially from Asia Pacific Region of the world, to share ideas and explore new advances in orthodontic technology and foster closer ties. “Our programme has kept providing a mix of most clinical oriented lectures. The poster sessions also held on the occasion,” President of Bangladesh Orthodontic Society Dr Md Zakir Hossain told.
Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi
A special recitation programme organised by Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi was held at the Central Public Library in the city on Saturday. The programme titled “Rabidranath Rabidranath” was held at Shawkat Osman Memorial auditorium of the library at 6 pm. President of Udichi Central Committee Professor Shafiuddin Ahmed presided over the function. The programme was attended, among others, by Udichi’s former President and noted cultural personality Kamal Lohani, former Vice-Chancellor of the Dhaka University Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, academician Quazi Madina and Udichi Central Sangsad Vice-President Mahmud Selim. Udichi Central Sangsad Vice-President Belayet Hossain, Dalia Ahmed, Maskur-A-Sattar, Iqbal Khorshed, Quazi Mahtab Suman and Mithun Ahmed presented the recitation.
