A scholarship distribution programme among poor and meritorious students organised by Enam-Anar Public Welfare Foundation was held at Dhaka Reporters Unity. Joint General Secretary of Awami League Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif was present in the programme held on Monday as the chief guest. While speaking Hanif said the miscreants, who carried out an attack on the motorcade of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, would be brought to the book. Hanif said, “BNP activists attacked the motorcade to get media coverage, Khaleda Zia wanted to see a mass procession in support of her, but when she saw that was not happening, they planned the attack.” He also played telephone record of Chittagong City BNP President Dr Shahadat Hossain as evidence. “They are trying to catch fish in troubled water and it has been proved that the party always involved in conspiracy,” he added. Hanif said, “Khaleda did not had any intention to support Rohingyas, if she had any such intention she would go there by air, but she tried to make showdown.”
Bangladesh Krishak League
A discussion on ‘Save Farmer-Save Country’ organised by Bangladesh Krishak League was held at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city on Monday. Awami League Presidium Member and also Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim was present at the programme as the chief guest. While speaking Nasim ruled out the possibility of bringing about any change in state-power in Bangladesh bypassing the election. “There is no option to go against the constitution. Polls will be held timely under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in line with the existing constitution,” he added. Referring to BNP’s threat to launch a vigorous movement against the AL government, Nasim said, “Awami League is not afraid of any threat of movement as it’s the party of mass people.” The senior AL leader also said the people will not allow any Razaker or anti-liberation force to come to power any more. President of the organisation Motahar Hossain presided over the event. The function was also addressed, among others, by AL Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Dhaka south city unit of AL General Secretary Shahe-Alam Murad and General Secretary of the organisation Shamsul Haque Reza.
