Prathomik Shikshak Adhikar Suraksha Forum
An emergency meeting organised by Prathomik Shikshak Adhikar Suraksha Forum was held at its central office in city’s Uttar Manikdia, Sabujbag on Friday. In the programme the speakers demanded ban on coaching business and guide book to ensure quality primary education. They also called upon to stop examination business of primary schools. They said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and her daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina nationalized primary education to ensure rights of education of the poor people. The function was addressed, among others, by Senior Joint Convenor of the forum Golam Mostofa (Thakurgaon), Joint Convenor Golam Mostofa (Mymensingh), its Dhaka city Convenor MA Siddique Miah, its member Rezia Sultana Tarafdar (Habiganj) and Subrata Roy (Pirojpur). Convenor of the forum Siddiqur Rahman presided over the event.
Bangabandhu Jatiya Juba Parishad
A human chain organised by Bangabandhu Jatiya Juba Parishad was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club. Awami League(AL) Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hossain was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Ahmed said bold foreign policy of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has achieved the international community’s support on Rohingya issue. “China, India and Russia agreed in principle to end Rohingya crisis,” he added. Ahmed Hossain said the weak foreign policy of BNP was reflected in the agreement of the BNP government in 1992 on the repatriation of the Rohingya people. As per the deal, he said, Myanmar was supposed to take back only 14,000 Rohingyas. He said the address of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will remain a milestone in establishing rights of repressed people across the world. Hossain said Rohingya problems would be solved as per Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s five-point proposal at the UNGA in New York. The function was also addressed, among others, by former State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku and Vice President of Dhaka South City Unit of AL Nurul Amin Ruhul. Vice-President of the parishad Mozammel Hassan presided over the event.
