Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Dal
A rally organised by Bangladesh Jatiyabadi Dal, Shahbag thana, Dhaka Mahanagar Dakshin was brought out in the city on Wednesday protesting arrest warrant issued against BNP Senior Vice-President Tarique Rahman. In the rally the speakers bitterly criticized arrest warrant issued against Tarique Rahman. They called upon all to be united to forge greater movement against such whimsical attitude of the government. The programme was attended, among others, by Vice-President of the organisation Dhaka Mahanagar Dakshin and Convenor of Shahbag thana BNP Abu Ahsan Talukdar Nani, its Joint General Secretary, Shabag thana MA Hannan, Vice-President of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Zakir Hossain Mintu, Joint Convenor of 20 No Ward, Shahbag thana Abu Sufian and Joint Convenor of Shahbag thana 21 No Ward BNP Mohammad Mamun. The rally paraded different streets of the city to meet its demands.
Non-Govt Pry Teachers Assoc
A discussion organised by Non-Government Primary Teachers Association was held in the auditorium of Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) in the city. State Minister for LGRD Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Ranga said achievements in primary education have been acclaimed internationally as the government has implemented various effective programmes to ensure universal access to education. “Enrolment in primary education has increased significantly as a result of sincere efforts of the government” he added. Ranga said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman nationalized 36,160 primary schools to ensure universal access to education.”It was really an ambitious and courageous initiative as nationalization of such a huge number of primary schools was a very tough step for a war-torn country,” he said. Following Bangabandhu’s footsteps, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina nationalized nearly 26,193 non-government primary schools during her tenure, Ranga added. President of the association Md Mamunur Rashid presided over the event. The function was also addressed, among others, by Tipu Sultan, MP and teachers.
