BD Autorickshaw-Autotempoo Transport Workers Federation
A discussion marking National Road Safety Day-2017 organised by Bangladesh Autorickshaw-Autotempoo Transport Workers Federation was held in the auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity on Sunday. In the programme the speakers stressed upon training for transport workers to ensure safe road. They also called upon to withdraw ban on plying of autorickshaw and autotempoo on the highway. Representatives of different districts attended the function to discuss their problems. The programme was addressed, among others, by Parliamentary Standing Committee Member on Road Transport and Bridges Ministry Nazmul Haque Prodhan, MP, labour leader Abul Hosain, former President of Dhaka Union of Journalists Elahi Newaz Khan and former students’ leader Jayed Iqbal Khan and Engineer Dabirul Ahmed. Vice-President of the federation Mohammad Ful Miah Bhuiyan presided over the event.
Mohila Awami League
A discussion in observance of the 54th birthday of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organised by Mohila Awami League, Rangpur unit was held on the eighteenth instant at its office. While speaking local leaders of the organisation said Sheikh Russell was assassinated aiming at reversing the hard-earned independence by eliminating heir of Bangabandhu’s family. Floral
wreaths were placed at the portrait of Sheikh Russell. Milad and Doa Mahfil were arranged. Special munajat was also offered seeking divine blessings for the departed soul on the occasion. The function was addressed, among others, by Publicity and Publication Secretary of the organisation Rosy Rahman as the chief guest, its General Secretary Advocate Zakia Sultana Choitee, its Vice-Presidents Johra Begum and Jesmine Akhter, President of city Mohila AL Mamtaz Begum and its General Secretary Ismat Ara Barna. President of the district unit of Mohila Awami League Mortuza Begum presided over the event.
