Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad
A rally organised by Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Wednesday in protest against BNP’s conspiracy with Mossad against Bangladesh and to topple the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Awami League Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan said, “BNP is not only the enemy of Bangladesh but also the enemy of the whole Muslim world. Khaleda Zia’s cat came out of the sack following the meeting between BNP’s Joint Secretary General Aslam Chowdhury and Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency”. The rally was also addressed, among others, by United States unit Awami League (AL) President Dr Siddiqur Rahman and Assistant Secretary to AL Sub-Committee Advocate Balaram Poddar. President of the Parishad Shahdat Hossain presided over the programme.
Communist Party of Bangladesh
A rally organised by the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) was held in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city. In the rally speakers demanded reduction of fare of all public buses. They also demanded introduction of BRTC buses in all routes of the city. The rally was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the CPB Central Committee Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed, its Dhaka Committee General Secretary Dr Sajedul Haque Rubel, Advisory Committee Members Zahid Hossain Khan and Sukanta Shafi Kamol. Member of CPB Dhaka Committee Arnab Sarker conducted the rally. President of CPB Dhaka Committee Abdul Kader presided over the programme.
