Bangladesh Assistant Primary Teachers’ Society
A meeting organised by Bangladsesh Assistant Primary Teachers’ Society was held in Moitree Auditorium of Mukti Bhaban in the city’s Purana Palton on Wednesday. In the programme the leaders of the society demanded to meet its 5-point demands including promotion of the assistant teachers according to their merit and seniority. The speakers warned to wage movement from November next if their demands are not met immediately. The meeting was addressed, among others, by Senior Vice-President of the society AKM Khasruzzaman, Aminul Haque Babu, Mahidul Islam, Mohammad Nurul Islam, Azizar Rahman Milton, Selim Hossain and Pankaj Dutta. President of the organisation Shahinur Al-Amin presided over the event.
Moinuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari Trust
A relief campaign organised by Moinuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari Trust for Rohingya refugees was held in Cox’s Bazar. In the programme held recently the organizers distributed several tonnes of rice and pressed rice, potato, biscuits, clothes and general medicines. In the function the speakers demanded repatriation of Rohingyas to Maynmar with dignity and ensured human and civil rights.”One could feel their pain while visiting the refugee shelters in Cox’s Bazar,” the speakers said in a brief statement after distributing relief materials among the Rohingyas at a refugee camp in Teknaf with army assistance. They demanded, “Myanmar must stop the atrocities and take back these people with dignity, ensuring their civic rights.” Myanmar’s denial of atrocities,committed by its security forces, actually threw a challenge to the global community and conscience , they added.
