A discussion marking the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day organised by.
Jubo Sramik League was held at the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Sunday. Awami League Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present at the programme as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan urged BNP leaders to stand by the flood affected people instead of delivering speech in Dhaka. “BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is now busy with shopping with her son, son’s wife and grand children in London…but Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is making relentless efforts to mitigate sufferings of the flood-hit people,” he added. Hasan Mahmud said BNP leaders are now busy with press conferences in Dhaka instead of helping the flood-hit people. The
function was addressed, among others, by Awami League Labour Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi and Jatiya Sramik League President Shukur Mahmud. Convener of the organisation Abdul Halim Shahjahan presided over the event.
Bangladesh Chhatra Union
A relief distribution among the flood-affected people in Kulkandi, Purbapara, Muradabad, Char Kulkandi, Madhyapara in Kurigram organised by Bangladesh Chhatra Union, Dhaka Mahanagar Sansad was held on Saturday. The union distributed rice, pulse, potato, oil, salt and salain among the flood-hit people of 320 families of the area. General Secretary of the union, Dhaka Mahanagar Sansad Jawharlal Roy, its Vice-President Tahsin Mallik, Treasurer Billal Hossain, Students Affairs Secretary Mehedi Hasan Rony, its Tejgaon thana unit Office Secretary Ema and Ramna thana unit Organising Secretary Amir Hossain were present on the occasion. Vice-President of the organisation Anik Roy was also present as the central representative.
