Shaheed Tajuddin Smriti Sangsad
A discussion on the occasion of the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organised jointly by Shaheed Tajuddin Smriti Sangsad and Shaheed Moyezuddin Smriti Sangsad was held at Taraganj in Kapasia upazila in Gazipur on Tuesday. Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan was present as the chief guest. While speaking Khokan urged the people to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to keep up the development of the country.”Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been making tireless efforts to turn Bangladesh into a developed and prosperous country. So it is our responsibility to strengthen her hands to achieve the goal,” he added. The function was addressed, among others, by former President of Kapasia Thana Awami League Asgar Rashid Khan and central leaders of Jubo League and Chhatra League. Recitation of the holy Quran, doa mahfil, feeding of the destitute and distribution of holy Quran at local madrasas were also held on the occasion.
Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad
A rally jointly organised by Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad and Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee was brought out in the city marking the birthday of Lord Shri Krishna on the 14th instant. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader was present at the rally as the chief guest. While speaking Quader said the country is belongs to us all as we unitedly freed the country under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1971. He said country is for all. No place for extremists in the non-communal Bangladesh. He called upon all to work unitedly to resist separatists. The rally was also attended, among others, by Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon, Haji Selim, MP, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah, Awami League leader Sujit Roy Nandi and Jubo Mohila League General Secretary Opu Ukil, journalist Swapan Kumar Saha and Prof Dr Nim Chandra Bhoumik.
