A rally organised by the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Mirpur Thana Unit was held at 10 No bus stand in the city’s Mirpur on Thursday. In the rally the speakers demanded immediate reduction of fare of public transports. The speakers also demanded for introducing BRTC buses in all routes of the city. The programme was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of CPB, Dhaka Committee Dr Sajedul Haque Rubel, President of Mirpur Thana Committee of the organisation James Shibastin Mondol, its General Secretary Khondkar Hirok and President of Jubo Union, Dhaka city unit Reaz Uddin. President of the organisation, Greater Mirpur Zone Committee KhanAsaduzzaman Masum presided over the event.
Aviation and Tourism Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh
A pre-budget discussion on civil aviation and tourism organised by Aviation and Tourism Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) was held at Jatiya Press Club in the city on Thursday. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon was present as the chief guest. While speaking Menon said he is expecting Taka 342 crore budget allocation for further development of aviation and tourism sector. “It’s a good news that Finance Ministry gave consent to allocate Taka 100 crore more as previously they planned to allocate Taka 242 for civil aviation and tourism,” he said. ATJFB President Nadira Kiron moderated the discussion. The programme was addressed, among others, by Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Air Vice Marshal Ihsanul Ghani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bangladesh Tourism Board Akhtaruzzaman Khan Kabir, first Vice-President of Tour Operator Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) Raffeuzzaman and Secretary General of Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) Aslam Khan.
