Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad
President and General Secretary of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad Jayanta Sen Dipu and Advocate Taposh Pal respectively in a statement on Wednesday have expressed deep condolence over the death of President of Bangladesh Hindu Bouddha Christian Oikya Parishad, State Minister for Social Welfare and also President of Bangladesh Christian Association Advocate Promod Mankin. They have also extended profound sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul. They said that the nation has lost a true patriot, distinguished politician and renowned social worker in his death. The death of Mankin is an irreparable loss to the country and people will remember him forever with due respect, they added.
Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad
A discussion organised in memory of noted nuclear scientist Dr Wazed Mia marking his 7th death anniversary by Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad was held at Jatiya Press Club. Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Awami league Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan alleged that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been doing politics in Bangladesh as an agent of Pakistan. Khaleda Zia and her party usually express the identical reaction to that of Pakistan after each of the verdict handed down against the war criminals, he added. The programme was also addressed, among others, by former State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku, President of US unit Awami League (AL) Dr Siddiqur Rahman, Assistant Secretary to AL sub-committee Advocate Balaram Poddar and General Secretary of Swadhinata Shikshak Parishad Shahjahan Alam Saju. President of the organisation Shahdat Hossain presided over the discussion. In the programme the speakers recalled the contributions of Wazed Mia.
