Baridhara Society
Baridhara Society launched a day-long medical camp for consultation on cancer and oncology in cooperation with Shohoj Medical Services at Suhrawardy Avenue , Baridhara on Tuesday, says a press release. Dr Amaranth Gopalraj , Head of Clinical and Radiation Oncology of HCG Hospital , Chennai and Dr Nirmal Patra of Bangalore of India consulted individually with the patients . M Ehsanul Hoque , President and Monzur Uddin Ahmed , Secretary General and Dr Naima Reza Chowdhury, Vice President of the Society were present on the occasion.
Bangladesh Open University (BOU)
A six- member delegation headed by Dr. KIM DUK HO, Senior Research Fellow of Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) visited Bangladesh Open University (BOU), Gazipur main campus yesterday, says a press release. The team came to BOU to evaluate, assess the impact of the Project and formulated recommendation to improve the policy making of the establishment of the ICT and Web-based learning system in Bangladesh Open University which has been successfully completed few years back. Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Khondoker Mokaddem Hossain welcomed the team in e-Learning Center of the University and briefed the team about the present operational system of e-Learning Center. Dr Md Shafiqul Alam, Director (In-Charge), Planning and Development Division of BOU coordinated the programme. Members of the e-Learning Center and Director (in-Charge), Information and Public Relations Division, BOU were also present in the programme.
SR Asia Bangladesh
Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and SR Asia Bangladesh jointly organised a seminar on “propagating CSR projects by corporate in Bangladesh” at DCCI Auditorium yesterday. State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan, MP was present as Chief Guest. In his welcome address, DCCI President Abul Kasem Khan said ,CSR in Bangladesh is now at pre-mature stage. CSR can be referred as organizational commitment to a certain community aiming at massive welfare which reaps rippled and sustainable socio-economic befefits for others in a society. Due to its growing global recognition and engagement, CSR is embedded into SDG 2030. The SDG will open up the provisions of diverse CSR acts in Bangladesh within cross-sectional manufacturing to service industry. CSR can strongly act as catalyst and facilitate the SDG targets-led cherished economic visions of emerging Bangladesh. He urged the government to finalize National CSR Guideline or policy and CSR Act. Sumaya Rashid, Country Director , SR Asia Bangladesh said a CSR guideline will help corporate houses to expedite their CSR activities more.
