Bangladesh Ganotantrik Sangskritik Jote
A rally organised by Bangladesh Ganotantrik Sangskritik Jote was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Friday. In the rally the speakers bitterly criticized attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli police. They also denounced killing of Palestine Muslims during prayers. The programme was addressed, among others, by BNP Vice-Chairman Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan, BNP Chairpersn’s Adviser Barrister Haider Ali, BNP’s Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) Presidium Member Ahsan Habib Linkon, Acting Secretary General of NDP Manjoor Hossain Esha, Acting General Secretary of Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Dal M Ahmed Khan Mantu. Chief Coordinator of the organisation and also President of Jatiyatabadi Sangskritik Dal, Central Committee Humayun Kabir Bepari presided over the function.
Association for Community Development
A planning workshop titled ‘Role of Community-based Child Protection Team’ organised by Association for Community Development (ACD), a non-government rights-based organisation was held at its office conference hall in Rajshahi. In the programme held recently the discussants observed that community support is very important for ensuring life building of the children properly.They mentioned there is no way but to ensure safe space for the children for flourishing their latent talents. Some 9,400 school children both boys and girls will receive life-building related knowledge and support that will help flourishing their physical and mental development. The children including 5,400 girls age group from six to 14 will get the privileges through 17 socialization centres under a three-year project titled “IKEA Good Cause Campaign”.The function was addressed, among others, by District Children Affairs Officer Uma Rani Das, Councilor of Rajshahi City Corporation Nazma Begum, ACD Project Officer Ahsan Ullah Sarker, Monitoring and Documentation Officer Md Rahmat Ullah and Community Mobilizers Shamsun Nahar, Farjana Jahan and Jelekha Khatun. The project is being implemented in two wards of Rajshahi City Corporation and two pourasavas and three unions under Godagari Upazila in Rajshahi district.
ACD is implementing the project in association with Save the Children.
